![]() The Sun interviews Andy Stanton, author of Here Comes The Poo Bus! about helping to make "kids fall in love with books." He states: "There are many reasons why reading is so important... ...Film and television are wonderful but all the work is done for you. Whereas, when you read a book, you have to use your imagination and ask questions." He continues, "The crucial thing with books is to put them in children's way - find one they respond to" and that "as long as they're developing a love of reading it doesn't matter what their choices are." Among his favourites is Fantastic Mr Fox and thinks that "every child should read Roald Dahl." Andy's closing remark: "I wrote in one of my Mr Gum books, a good book is like a friend who is made of paper - and to me that sums books up." |
