Mr Gum and the Dancing Bear

Mr Gum and the Dancing Bear by Andy Stanton had a great review in The Birmingham Post last weekend:

“...There are some serious undertones to this story about friendship and how we should respect others, but they are introduced subtly. Which is about the only thing in this story that is subtle.

The rest is a riot of humour, a whirlwind of chaos and some leftfield moments that take the reader by surprise and comments by the writer that will make you snort out loud...

...The cast is striking in its daftness - Captain Brazil is as nutty as his name suggests, while Gum and Billy William are like pantomime baddies. If this doesn't get junior school children reading, I don't know what will.”
