Mr Gum and the Cherry Tree
It was announced on TV on Tuesday that Andy Stanton's Mr Gum and the Cherry Tree is on a short list of three for The Blue Peter Book Award's Most Fun Story with Pictures category. There are nine finalists in three categories which are...

...to be judged by a selection of young Blue Peter viewers. They will decide the winners in each category and the overall winner of Blue Peter Book of the Year 2011. The Book Awards shows will be broadcast on Blue Peter in February and March 2011 to coincide with World Book Day. Each of the nine shortlisted titles will appear on the show.

This is the third time a Mr Gum book has been shortlisted for this prize. Andy and illustrator, David Tazzyman, were overall winners with You're a Bad Man, Mr Gum! and won their category with Mr Gum and the Dancing Bear.

The Bookseller reported on the news yesterday.
