...gave us her impressions of the Children's Edinburgh book festival, from inside a yurt, when she performed at it last week.
Yurts, alongside tee-pees, are the biggest accommodation craze sweeping festivals at the moment and Tracey was certainly impressed with hers, 'There are rugs on the floor, squashy cushions on benches and a welcoming fire burning in the stove.' Tracey likens the inside to sitting in magical Narnia.
Tracey immersed herself in the world the festival created for the children: 'I strolled though the world of Anthony Browne, his characters jumping off the walls, drawing me into their world. Sharing the stories behind their eyes, their dreams and motivation.'
The reaction Tracey received from the children who watched her perform, and met her trolls, didn't disappoint. 'The event passed quickly - too quickly. The children didn’t let me down! They stomped. They roared. They lived the magic as they entered the truly trollific world of my trolls.'
She summed up her whole experience as truly magical, filled with magical stories, that 'take you to places you've never been before or places you never dreamed you'd go. And they take you to places you'll never, ever forget...'
