Shanta Everington

Shanta Everington is an associate lecturer in creative writing with The Open University. She nearly ended up as a maths teacher but escaped just in time! Instead, she worked in community care and ran a teenage sex helpline before getting serious about writing. She has been a guest agony aunt for the All About Soap problem page and the Radio 1 Sunday Surgery website.
Her debut novel, Marilyn and Me, was published in 2007 by Cinnamon Press. Give Me a Sign is her first novel for young adults, and she is currently working on the next one.
Shanta has a First Class Honours degree in Education from Anglia Ruskin University and an MA in Creative Writing with Distinction from Manchester Metropolitan University. She lives in London with her husband and son.
