Kate Maryon

Kate Maryon

From the age of four Kate knew that she wanted to be an author, and before she could read or write would sit for hours writing pages and pages of squiggles. As a teenager she gave her Maths teacher a nervous breakdown because she refused to engage in his lessons, preferring instead, to sit at the back of the class and write poetry.

After having children, Kate became fascinated by the world of complementary medicine and in 1996 qualified as a homeopath. The thing she most loves about her work is listening to the stories of people's lives. She is truly touched by both the vulnerability and courage of human nature.

Having grown up in London Kate now lives in Somerset with her partner and their composite family of five university age children, who generally arrive unannounced, eat the entire contents of the fridge and then leave! It's a good job that she loves them all very much.

Kate also loves: chocolate, British films, eating out, reading, writing, lying on sunny beaches and her large Newfoundland dog.

She doesn't like: snakes, spiders, peppermint or honey.
