After an editing career in international non-fiction publishing, Alex worked as an author of children’s non-fiction (winning the American Physics Society Science Writing award in 1994) and as a ghost writer/editor for cookery and interior design books.

She has now branched into children’s fiction and radio plays and is a member of the BBC Wales Writer’s Unit. Alex lives in London, is married with three grown and flown children.
