Karen Lamb

Karen Lamb is an author, illustrator, animator and scriptwriter.

A life long passion for writing humorous stories and poetry propelled her into a career of film-making and illustration. Commissions include illustration for Swedish magazines and national newspapers and over thirty educational books. She also hosts animation workshops.

She has animated three children's puppet series for Swedish TV: Nils Holgerssons journey, Villgott. and Villgott and Villja. She has also co-written an educational children's series Go Yoyo, go!, for Swedish TV, that has been successful across Scandinavia.

Karen has worked on a wide collection of animated films based on Swedish best-selling children's books and has produced nine animated short films of her own. Her latest success, Pig's Dream, a puppet animated musical, has been broadcast in Scandinavia and shown at several international film festivals. This pig brought in Chinese New Year on the BBC's outdoor 'Big Screen' in Manchester and will soon be seen on Birmingham's 'Big Screen'.

Karen, originally from Blackpool, has lived in Stockholm, Sweden, for many years and returned to live in England in 2005.She misses the snow but has taken up cross-country ski-ing using chip papers on tram tracks. She has two children, her biggest source of inspiration.
